What Are The Odds?

On Sunday we took a trip up to Jim Thorpe.

Steve and I have been there, but Stephen never has.

We didn't ride the train.
We did get to see it in the station.
When Steve and I rode it in the early winter there were two cars plus the engine and caboose.

Yesterday, there were 15 cars, engine and caboose.
Yay, for tourist season.

We had lunch at our favorite pub.

I also FINALLY got to go to the local yarn shop.
It is TINY. I mean, REALLY TINY.
The whole shop was smaller than my living room.

I did manage to find a lovely skein of sock yarn though.
It's not Pocono mountains dyed,
but MONTANA mountains dyed.

No bother.....it's pretty.

The shop owner and I talked a bit.

Her mother opened the shop over 40 years ago. It was knit shop on the first floor and an apartment upstairs.

When her mom passed she took over the shop, but, here's the kicker ..............she doesn't live in Jim Thorpe. She lives about 5 miles from my house. What are the odds of that. That is why she is only open weekends.

I doubt I will ever go back to the shop.

Not because I didn't like the shop,
but because of parking.

Parking Monday - Friday is $8.00.

Saturday and Sunday?

You want to guess?

$25.00

Did you guess correctly?

I think this may be a case of been there done that.

We've "done that" enough for now.

  1. Whoa....that's a lot of money. We laugh at the parking fee here at the beach. It's $7 an hour or $14 for the whole day. Makes no sense.
The yarn is lovely. I'm looking forward to seeing it cast on.

  2. Oh my - that is expensive parking. At least you found the yarn shop on this trip. The skein looks like it will make some great socks.

  3. Whoa, I’d hate to see what the parking violations cost! Pretty yarn.
